The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached actor Jayasurya’s real estate worth ₹ 39.01 crore as part of its money laundering probe in the alleged multi-crore Save Box Bidding App investment scam.
The agency questioned the actor, who reportedly served as the app’s brand ambassador, in December 2025. It probed whether he had any financial ties to its promoters. The warrant of attachment was issued on February 17, according to the statement.
The company, which touted itself as India’s first bidding app and was later linked to cryptocurrency trading, allegedly raised investments from the public but defaulted, leading to its shutdown by the end of 2022 and numerous criminal charges.
The ED investigation revealed that proceeds of crime to the tune of ₹ 39.01 crore (from four specific complainants after accounting for partial refunds) were fraudulently generated and layered/diverted for various purposes including celebrity brand endorsements, cryptocurrency trading losses, personal expenses and other uses.
A money laundering case has been registered against Swathi Rahim, CEO of Save Box Concepts Pvt. Ltd, according to the notice, for defrauding investors.
The agency launched an investigation based on four First Information Reports (FIRs) registered by the Thrissur City East police station against Mr. Rahim and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860.
According to the FIRs, he allegedly duped several investors by inducing them to invest money in the company with false promises of lucrative returns, issuing company shares, partnerships or franchises in an online bidding application and related ventures, leading to misappropriation of funds, according to the report.
