Congress on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) questioned the announcement of the Indian Election Commission (ECI) notification of the party leader Pawan Khera that Mr. Khera was focused because he is still asking questions to the Commission.
Assigning a press conference at the ALL India (AIC) Congress headquarters, a member of the Congress (CWC) and spokesman ABHISHEK Manu Singhvi also stressed how the EC resisted Aadhaar as evidence of identity in a special intense revision (SIR) in Bihar.
Mr. Singhvi said that the approach of ECI had forced the Supreme Court to finally issue a categorical directive.

“Despite repeated concerns by political parties, civil society and citizens, EC chose the opacity of transparency, silence over responsibility and unwillingness of responsibility,” he said.
Congress’s leader first said that the ECI could not perform any previous consultation, and secondly, the vote panel could not provide any convincing justification to start such intensive exercises in such a short period of time.
“In 2003, the Maharashtra and Arunacal Pradesh were intentionally liberated from SIR exercises because the elections were planned in less than six months,” Mr. Singhvi said.

Mr. Singhvi said that the notification of the show issued by the District Election Office (New Delhi District) for holding two election photographic cards (EPIC), said that the announcement of the official X handle in September ranked his personal data before he provided him with the opportunity to hear.
“The public dissemination of demonstration announcements explains that the EC has already preset the problem against Mr. Kher. This has no sanction in the representation of the law on people or rules,” said Mr. Singhvi, chief advocate at the Supreme Court.
Mr. Singhvi said that Mr. Khera was registered in the 40 in Nový Delhi. “After relocating to Yangpura in 2017, he submitted Form 6 in accordance with Rule 13 of the 1960 voter registration. In this form, he published details of his previous registration, including the constituency, address and earlier epic number,” he added.
In the prior to the right of law, the name of Mr. Khera was included in the election role of the Yangpura constituency and was issued a new epic number, Mr. Singhvi said.
“The copy of the acceptance of Form 6, which submitted, was provided to ES 18 August 2017,” he said, adding: “Why did EC not conduct a short investigation into his own records before issuing a notice in the public domain?”
