This round of parliamentary elections also meant a large-scale mobilization of the electoral infrastructure. West Bengal had the highest number of polling stations with 85,092, followed by Tamil Nadu with 75,064 and Assam with 31,490.
Index cards contain data across various dimensions such as candidates, voters, polled votes, tallied votes, polled party and candidate votes, etc.
Index cards and statistical reports were released for all 830 council constituencies that went to the polls. A repeat vote was scheduled in Falta, West Bengal on 21 May 2026.
Digital updates and faster publication of index cards and statistical reports were among more than 30 initiatives taken in the last year by the EC, the electoral body said in a statement.
The index cards can be accessed from both platforms — in the ECINET application (About Elections tab → Current Elections → Index Cards) and on the official ECI website (https://www.eci.gov.in/statistical-reports)
Before the introduction of ECINET, this process took several weeks to months as the data had to be manually filled in by field officers. The primary data is in the statutory forms maintained by the relevant return persons and the data in the statutory forms is final.
