The one -day Easter ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin was unable to maintain on Sunday (April 19), and Moscow and Kiev accused each other of violating hundreds of attacks. A short pause in hostility – it takes Moscow until midnight – was spoiled by artillery fire, drones and skirmishes in the first line, hopeful hope of a peaceful holiday.
“There were no other commands,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov Tass said, confirmed that Putin had not ordered an extension of the ceasefire.
Green: Russia Faked Easter Hormings
Ukrainian President Volodymyr accused Russia of Green to just pretending to observe a ceasefire and on Sunday stated that Moscow had launched 67 attacks between midnight and 20:00.
“Either Putin has no full control over his army, or the situation proves that in Russia they do not intend to take a real step to end the war,” he published Zelena on X. “It’s just a favorable PR coverage.”
He added: “If Russia does not agree to stop the strikes of drones and missiles on civilians for at least 30 days, it proves that they just want to extend the war and destroy lives.”
Russia: Over 1,000 Hormings Breaks in Ukraine
The Russian Ministry of Defense faced the story and claimed that Ukraine had interrupted a ceasefire more than 1,000 times and caused civilian victims through drones and artillery attacks. He claimed that the Ukrainian forces had fired 444 times in Russian positions and started more than 900 drones, including strikes in the Crimea and border areas such as Bryansk and Belgorod.
“As a result, there are deaths and injuries between the civilian population as well as damage to civilian facilities,” the ministry said in a statement.
Trump’s Peace pressure on risk
The collapse of the ceasefire underscores the fragility of the ongoing peaceful efforts led by the US. President Donald Trump, along with Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, warned on Friday that the US could leave peace negotiations unless there was clear progress.
Ukraine agreed with Trump a proposal for a 30 -day ceasefire earlier, while Moscow expressed concern. Both sides previously committed themselves to the moratorium during the attacks on the sea and the energy infrastructure – the sticks, which were reportedly also broken.
Green: “We will act symmetrically”
He explained to Zelenkly that Ukraine would correspond to Russian events on the battlefield. “The Ukrainian army is acting – and it will continue to act – fully symmetrically,” he said.
Despite the violence, he urged the Ukrainians not to give up hope: “We know what we are defending. We know what we are fighting,” he said in a holiday report from the Saint Sophie Cathedral in Kiev.
