Bengaluru East City Corporation cleaned interventions in the Chikkabellandur Lake in the Mahadevapura zone and regenerated government land.
According to sources, Chikkabellandur Lake, which is located in survey No. 9 in the village of Chikkabellandur, includes a total area of 67 acres and 14 gunta. A recent survey of the Income Department revealed that three gunta in the lake area was unlawfully occupied by private individuals.
A survey map identifying the intervened part was handed over to the municipal society, which previously issued the announcement to the pursuers and ordered them to release the land. Despite the announcement, however, the intervention remained unclear.
Then Commissioner City Corporation DS Ramesh and other Commissioner (Development) Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar ordered the main engineer (Mahadevapura Zone-1) to start permission.
The officials who acted according to the instructions carried out the drive of eviction and cleaned three gunta affected soil.
