On Monday morning, South California hit the 5.2-magnitude earthquake, but officials did not confirm any major damage or injuries.
According to an American geological survey, an earthquake occurred at 10:08 in the morning, with its epicenter located near Juliana, a mountain town in San Diego County known for its apple cake shops. The creatures were felt as far as Los Angeles County, about 120 miles (193 kilometers) to the north.
Although fraying was significant, it did not cause serious damage. Local businesses have experienced minor disturbances.
Schoolchildren evacuated as preventive measures
At nearby schools, students were evacuated as preventive measures. Captain Thomas shoots the Californian Ministry of Forestry and Fire Protection for San Diego County, said, “It was a lot of shivers and rattling around, but fortunately everything seems to return to normal.” He was alerted by Shakealert before he felt the shaking alone. Schoolchildren were accompanied by buildings as security measures, although no injuries were reported.
The Sheriff Department in the San Diego district reported no immediate injuries or significant damage.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was informed about the situation. His office confirmed that civil servants coordinate with local first respondents to assess any damage or impact on infrastructure.
Seismic activity in the region
The earthworm occurred at a depth of 8.3 miles (13.4 kilometers) near the turning zone Elsinore, one of the busiest seismic regions in California. The region regularly experiences an earthquake, and this latest event is just another reminder of the ongoing seismic risks in this area.
