The state government has successfully steered KSRTC to profitability through timely reforms and modernization efforts, Finance Minister KN Balagopal said here on Sunday.
He started the operation of new circular minibus service between ETC Anganwadi Junction and Kottarakkara.
He added that the expansion of infrastructure is fundamentally related to the improvement of public transport.
“The government’s strategic initiatives to increase revenue and improve passenger amenities have proven to be effective. The new bus service is specifically designed to provide better connectivity to emerging institutions centered around the ETC junction and its surrounding areas and cater to the growing needs of the local community,” he said. The newly launched service is scheduled to operate morning and evening journeys, covering key locations including ETC Junction, Thottamukku, Navodaya, Kottarakkara Railway Station and Kottarakkara Bus Stand.
This circular route aims to bridge the gap in local transport for both commuters and students. Municipal Chairperson Anitha Gopakumar presided over the inauguration ceremony. Standing committee chairpersons Saroja Karthikeyan and Rajitha R along with various city councillors, political party leaders and KSRTC employees were present on the occasion.
