A joint operation led by EAGLE Telangana and the Delhi Crime Branch resulted in the raid of 20 locations in the state capital, arresting over 50 Nigerian nationals for overstaying and a significant quantity of narcotics. The operation targeted what investigators described as a Nigerian drug cartel operating across the south and west pockets of Delhi.
As officials did not release any individual names, enforcement teams focused on groups linked to drug smuggling networks in Mehrauli, Sant Garh, Pratap Enclave, Prithvi Park, Nilothi, Chandra Nagar and Munirka. Police said those arrested were involved in distribution networks and numerous drug dens.
The operation involved 124 personnel from the Eagle Force, including one SP, eight DSPs, 17 inspectors, 16 sub-inspectors and 82 head constables and constables, working alongside 100 officers from the Delhi Crime Branch. Almost every available Eagle Force officer has been deployed and teams have also been sent to Greater Noida, Gwalior and Visakhapatnam.
Local police in three cities assisted the Telangana unit, which led to the arrest of what officials described as a drug kingpin, several women allegedly involved in drug sales and sex work, and key account holders for mullahs who facilitated the movement of money for the cartel.
EAGLE officials said the cooperation between the Delhi Crime Branch and police units in other cities has been exceptional, adding that coordinated operations of this magnitude will continue.
