EAGLE Force arrested six persons for consuming narcotic substances during a raid conducted at Taramati Baradari in Golconda on the night of Saturday-Sunday 4th and 5th April.
Police said the venue was hosting a themed party with an international DJ and intelligence inputs indicated possible drug use among attendees. Five teams were formed to carry out the raid without disrupting the action.
A total of 35 people were initially selected based on suspicion. In urine testing kits, five people tested positive for ganja and one tested positive for amphetamine-type substances.
The accused have been identified as Sarwar, a model and actor, Nihar, a businessman, Aashi, his wife, Jason, a DJ, Yogeshwar, a businessman, and Abinash, a pharmaceutical analyst.
Officials said information on the accused persons’ networks has been gathered and their families will be informed, while steps will be taken to ensure they undergo de-addiction programmes.
