Each searched for 10 new colleges for boys and girls

Proposals seeking to strengthen educational infrastructure for minority communities took center stage, with Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin seeking approval to set up 10 new colleges for boys and girls.

The move is expected to make these colleges the flagship institutions for junior college students run by the Society for Residential Educational Institutions of Telangana Minorities.

Mr. Azharuddin pointed out that while residential institutions currently offer secondary education, some students have not been able to graduate due to lack of access to colleges.

He informed the Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Malla that 20 newly completed buildings of Residential School for Minorities are ready for inauguration. Seeking support for the ongoing development work, the minister called for the immediate release of around ₹130 crore for pending accounts relating to various projects and institutions of the Minority Welfare Department.
