Long hours of waiting in government hospitals may soon be in the Kottayam district as an electronic health system that is designed to make hospital services more efficient from obtaining outpatient (OP) tickets to complete consultations and billing that have been carried out in more than half of the Government Hospitals.
Currently, electronic health services are available in 45 centers out of 88 hospitals in the district, from Medical College hospitals to primary health centers. According to clerks of the medical department, the facility will be introduced this year in another nine places.
“A total of 38 hospitals switched to an environment without paper. Using the unique health identification number (UHID), patients can use various services. This includes obtaining OP tickets, planning of physician, taking medication, accessing nursing services and digital disease information,” he said.
Patients also receive medical notes directly on their mobile devices. In addition, the implementation of E-POS machines for account payments was introduced in 27 locations. To date, 1,13 visits to Crore facilitated the electronic health system, with 1,648,744 individuals to be registered with UHID.
The electronic health system started in the district in July 2018 in Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital. After seven years, the Kottayam district now belongs to the eighth state for electronic health services. The project was implemented in half of the 60 family health centers and made great progress on the primary level.
The district physician N. Priya said that the e-Draví will be introduced in time in all hospitals in the district.
Centers for the Health of Families, Meenachil and Kuravilangad, where the e-heaually was introduced for the first time in the district five years ago, are in the top three positions at the state level.
The electronic health system was also implemented in large treatment centers such as the Institute for Children’s Health (ICH) in Kottayam, as well as the general hospitals in Kottayam, Kanjirapaly and Pala and Pampada Taluk Healquarters Hospital. It is in the initial phase of Kuravilangad and Vaikom Taluk Headquarters Hospitals.
Linto Lazar, Ardram Nodal Officer and the E-E-Devoting Coordinator of the District District, said the steps to implement this medical system are in the last stage in various other hospitals such as Manimala, Thalanad, Aymanam, Onamthuruth, Vishikkatoda, Poonjar GV Raja Family Health Centers.
The estimated costs of establishing an electronic health system at the primary health center are around 10 Lakh. These are settings of computers and related devices and systems for connecting on the registration counter, consulting room, nursing station, laboratory and pharmacy. Currently, e-Health is implemented using the state government funds, with a proposal to expand the project through local authorities. This expansion will also assign sources to continuous maintenance and other activities.
