The case of Durgapur Ganhrape in West Bengal took the conscience of the nation of the storms and stood the scenario of state law and order before the glaring issue. This is because this case monitors the rape and murder of another doctor in August 2024 in the heart of the capital of Kolkata in one of the leading medical institutions of the city.
In this case, five people were arrested and the police contingent led by the deputy commissioner of the Police Commissioner of Assasol-Durgapur Abhishek Gupta went to the place on Tuesday, where they began to reconstruct the crime scene to understand how the events developed.
The arrested persons and a friend of the survivor were taken to the place of crime in the jungle adjacent to the Crhemation Ground Paranaganj Kali Bari and asked for the “reconstruction” of their relevant roles when alleged crimes took place there on Friday evening.
“The defendant and friend of the estate who accompanied her on Friday evening was brought to the reconstruction of the crime. The whole reconstruction will be video program and then connected by their statements. We will also verify the victim’s statement,” PTI said.
Meanwhile, two of the five arrested accused were taken to their residences on Tuesday morning, in particular to find evidence associated with the crime they could hide, said.
As the probe proceeds
During the search, the police confiscated several clothes from the Duo homes that reportedly wore them during the crime, the officer said.
Previously, the clothing of the other three arrested accused was taken out of their property as part of the investigation, he said.
“These clothes will be sent for forensic examination. The results will help in our investigation,” PTI said, adding that the background of five arrested accused was also checked to see if they were involved in any crime in the past.
Mobile phones confiscated from the ownership of the five arrested accused were also sent for tests, according to the report, while the police also questioned classmates of the survivors within their probe.
Later during the day, five arrested accused will be accepted for a medical examination.
Among the five arrested accused is one former guardian of a private college, while the other is currently working with another hospital.
One accused is a temporary worker in a local civic body while the other is an unemployed person.
