
Actor Dulquer Salmaan turned to the High Court in Kerala on Friday (September 26, 2025) and called on the customs staff decision to entertain one of his top cars to accusations of suspected tax evasion.
Land Rover was confiscated from his house in the Kochi in Koral, as part of the celebrity intervention who allegedly bought top used used cars from Bhutan using counterfeit documents.
In his plea, Mr. Salmaan claimed that the vehicle was purchased from the Indian Red Cross.
On Tuesday (September 23, 2025), the customs preventive wing carried out nationwide raids in residence and premises with high value in Kerala, including prominent actors and industrialists, in an intervention against allegedly non -permitted imports of premium vehicles from Bhutan.
This operation was named Numkhor, which means a “vehicle” in Bhutan.
Customs officials examined the houses of actors Dulquer Salmaan and Vrithviuranu Sukumaran in Kochi.
The customs have confiscated 38 “high -valuable second -hand cars” suspects that they have been smuggled from Bhutan in the last few years.
The department of motor vehicles, the anti -terrorist group and the police police, expanded their support.
The Indian Act prohibits the import of second -hand vehicles, with the exception of the transfer of the provisions on the transfer of residence (TR), which allows the import and registration of vehicles used for three years and more after payment of 160% duty.
