Dubai Abu Dhabi LIVE: After a massive fire broke out at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Monday, airport authorities announced the diversion of some flights to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
Flight operations were temporarily suspended after the drone hit a fuel tank nearby amid the ongoing war between the US, Israel and Iran in the Middle East. Civil defense teams rushed to the spot to contain the flames. According to Dubai authorities, there were no injuries in the incident.
“A drone incident near Dubai International Airport (DXB) hit one of the fuel tanks. Dubai Civil Defense teams are currently working to bring the fire under control. No injuries have been reported so far,” the Dubai Media Authority said.
The latest strike comes a day after Iran accused the US of using ports, docks and shelters in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Tehran has called for the evacuation of three major ports in the United Arab Emirates before targeting non-US assets in the neighboring country.
