In view of the upcoming by-elections to the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, the Cyberabad police have announced restrictions on sale of liquor and public gatherings to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful polling.
According to Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty’s order on Thursday, all wine and toy shops, bars attached to restaurants and bars of star hotels and registered clubs within Sanathnagar police station limits will remain closed from 6 pm on November 9 to 6 pm on November 11. if needed.
The order issued under Section 20 of the Telangana Excise Act, 1968 is aimed at maintaining public peace and tranquility during the election season. The by-election for the Jubilee Hills seat is due to be held on November 11.

In a separate notification issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, he banned gatherings of more than five people in the same area during the election period. The restrictions will apply from 18:00 on November 9 until 18:00 on November 12.
The regulation imposes a complete ban on illegal assemblies and public gatherings. However, the police clarified that the restriction will not apply to door-to-door campaigns involving groups of five or fewer people.
The Cyberabad police warned that any violation of these orders would require prosecution under applicable laws.
