A 26 -year -old man, allegedly in a unwilling state, encountered his car in a row of vehicles and was shrouded in a upset public before being handed over to the police.
The defendant, identified as Sachin, from Kalaburagag, working in a private company, borrowed a car from his friend and allegedly drove after consuming alcohol on Tuesday.
He lost control and knocked down the moped rider. The rider suffered several fractures and escaped closely from the crossing. In panic, Sachin reportedly accelerated in an effort to escape and came across several other vehicles before he stopped.
The angry public pulled him out, threw him away, and tied him to the pole. Yelahanka traffic police later took him into custody.
He was subjected to a medical examination and found to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused was booked for offenses, including driving under the influence of alcohol, rash and negligence and endangering the lives of others.
