Despite the disruption, England manager Thomas Tuchel insisted his players were focused on the task at hand.Watch:Tuchel admitted he had personally experienced some of the effects of Mexico City’s altitude, including headaches and trouble sleeping, but stressed the team was adapting.“We feel it (altitude) even when we’re not training,” Tuchel told reporters. “I had a slight headache all day in the hotel room and didn’t sleep as well as the days before, but nothing you can’t handle and adapt to.”“I think the players felt it in the first minutes of training and the longer it went on, the better they were able to cope with it. It’s just the way it is. We can’t adapt physically, it’s just impossible. But we’re here the day before to at least experience it tomorrow.”The England manager also warned that Mexico’s aggressive approach at home, combined with the difficult conditions, could make the opening stages of the match particularly challenging for his side.“It’s no coincidence that Mexico normally start their games at home normally very strong, very forward, very aggressive because I think the first 15-20 minutes will be maybe the hardest for us. Once we get over that and we’ve already experienced it a bit today, I think we’re in a good place,” he added.England come into the game having beaten DR Congo 2-1 in the previous round, but face a tough challenge against a Mexican side who are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
