On Monday, the first cost-effective, high-ranking prosthesis of carbon fiber legs, which is a prosthesis on the feet of defense research and development (DRDL) and AIIMS-BIBINAGAR, a native designed and developed with carbon fiber legs.
DRDR DRDR Director a.srinivas Murty and Aiims Executive Director Ahanthem Santa Singh released “Adidoc (Aiims Bibinagar-Drdl, DrDo natives developed by optimized carbon leg prosthesis), which was biomechanically tested for loads up to 125 kilograms with high price. Provision for loading at a load at up to 125 kilograms.
It has three variants that will satisfy patients with different weights. This leg is designed to offer a high quality, cheap and affordable solution accessible to a larger population in need, providing performance at the same level with available international models. It is expected to significantly reduce the cost of only less than 20,000 GBP compared to the costs of current imported products that are around 2 lakh.
Therefore, this innovation is expected to significantly improve the availability of high quality prosthetics for low -income groups, reduce dependence on imported technologies and supports wider social and economic integration for people with disabilities.
The development of this prosthesis was made possible through the specialized efforts of experts and scientists from Drdl, DrDO, Industrial Partners and Medical Team of AIIims-Bibinagar experts, the press release said.
