
MP Eluru Putta Mahesh Kumar announced that the detailed report of the project (DPR) for the long-awaited Bhadrachalam-Kovur railway line was prepared and expected to start work soon.
On Sunday, when he talked to the media on Sunday, he remembered that the problem at Lok Sabha during the last budget meeting of Parliament 2. April 2025 urged the Minister of Railway to speed up the project. He said that the residents of the district of the collection of Chintalapudi and Polavaram under the jurisdiction of Eluru Lok Sabha, along with people from the Gopalapuram and Kovvur constituents in the former West Godavari district, are waiting for this railway line for many years. “It’s a matter of great luck that work is about to start now,” he said.
The proposed railway line 118.9 km will start at estimated costs at 1,695.71 Crore. It runs from sattupalli through Ashwaraopet, Yangareddygud and Devarapalli into a cowhide. Andr Pradesh has asked the Ministry of Railways to carry the entire project costs. When the line is finished, the distance between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad will shorten by more than 100 km.
Mr. Malesh Kumar said: “This project has been my highest priority in the last year. I have been expressing my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababa Naida, Deputy Chief Minister Konidel Pawan Kalyan. He also thanked the Minister of Railways for negotiations on the assurance provided in parliament.
The deputy expressed the hope that the DPR, which has already submitted the railway authorities, will soon be approved so that the work can start immediately.
