
The Russell market in Shivajinagar has shifted a step closer, with a detailed report of the project (DPR) is now completed.
Commissioner of Bengalur Central City Corporation P. Rajendra Cholan on Thursday ordered officials to speed up the project and modernize the market without losing their character.
Renewal will focus on improving the availability, visibility and movement of the market and adding modern equipment. Plans include reserved parking, underground drainage, water supply and electricity and solid waste segregation. The plan also includes solar energy, rainwater collection and energy efficient patterns.
Rizwan Arshad, MLA for Shivajinagar, ordered that the reconstruction should be carried out without threatening his inheritance.
During the visit, Mr. Cholan applied for traders and business facilities to ensure cleanliness in their premises, as trash trails damage the appearance of the city. Shop owners were asked to keep at least 100 meters of pedestrian trails in front of their shops.
Commissioner North City Corporation Pommala Sunil Kumar ordered officials to intensify the efforts to meet the goal of the property collection for the current financial year. At the inspection meeting, Mr. Kumar said the corporation set a target of 1,242 GBP Crore, of which 518 GBP Crore was collected, and officers are instructed to obtain the remaining CRORE 724 GBP.
Drive against plastic
While driving, North Corporation officials confiscated 113 kg of banned plastic plastic from three commercial equipment and gathered 76,000 GBP as okay.
Similarly, West City Corporation officials confiscated 1,500 kg of forbidden plastic for prohibited disposable disposable and collected fines worth 62,000 GBP.
