The golden jubilee celebrations of the Department of Business Administration and BN Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS) at the University of Mysore were officially launched here on Saturday.
The event witnessed the launch of the Alumni Talk Series and is part of the year-long celebrations commemorating 50 years of management education imparted by the Department of Business Administration, University of Mysore.
Prof. NK Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore said that the Alumni Talk Series provides a valuable platform for professionals to share their experiences, career guidance and provide up-to-date real-world insights to the current generation of students.
He said such interactions also strengthen the bond between past and present and inspire students to pursue their goals with clarity and confidence.
Pointing out that the golden jubilee celebrations highlight the significant role of UoM in nurturing and supporting BIMS, Lokanath said that the achievements of BIMS are closely linked to the wider traditions of quality and vision of the University of Mysore, emphasizing academic excellence, social engagement and institutional integrity. “True management was not only about profits and performance, but also about values, sustainability and service,” he added.
The Vice-Chancellor said that going forward, this opportunity should be used to strengthen academic systems, promote innovation, support research and deepen industry involvement. The Golden Jubilee celebrations, he said, were not the end of the journey but the beginning of a new phase of growth and progress.
