Thousands of Americans could not order breakfast on Wednesday morning via Doordash when the app suddenly stopped working. According to the sun, the outage began around 3:46 pm CT and was much worse until 7:01 CT, as many people try to order morning meals.
More than 5,500 problem messages were flooded with a downdetector, a website that monitors the application problems. Most of the problems (67%) were with the DASHERSER application that drivers use delivery, while about 31% were for the customer order application. Hungry customers saw all restaurants marked as “closed” in the application, but some could still place orders that stuck without updates.
Social media users began to publish their frustration online. Frustrated customers flooded social media and complained that they could not get food or drink. “DOORDASH is not working now, destroying my day? I’m so hungry,” one user wrote on x.
Next said, “I’m so thirsty and finally ordered drinks and now it’s just .. nothing .. for an hour and a half. No updates”.
Some tried to use a special PIN code of DOORDASH, which needs the driver to enter the number when delivery, but the application errors made it impossible. Without information from DOORDASH, many customers initially switched to competing applications such as Uber Eats.
Driving drivers faced the greatest headaches during the outage. Many of them have seen error messages as “Unable to load data” instead of obtaining orders. One driver posted on Downdettor: “Hopefully it will be soon.
Others warned the drivers not to rush when returning to the service: “With this kind of outrage, you are preparing for a ton of headaches …”
DOORDASH slowly set the state of problems by the state after the engineers worked in the morning. Until 7:47 pm CT, news of a failure dropped to 2,800 and further to 500 to 8:19 hours CT.
