Three doctors from Kashmir came under the scanner. Security agencies suspect that one doctor could be involved in the Red Fort attack.
“The government must punish those involved. However, the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers of the suspects are being detained and interrogated. The investigation should be conducted professionally and the family members of the suspects should not be treated like criminals. This should not happen,” Mufti said.

“The blast in Delhi is deeply tragic and painful. If the allegations against the doctors are found to be true after a fair investigation, it will be very disturbing for Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Muslim community. Our brightest minds must not be driven to despair or waste. A fair and transparent investigation is essential,” Mufti said.

She said that such acts tarnish the reputation of Muslims and also create problems for Kashmiris living outside J&K. “Doctors are our best brains and assets. It is a cause for concern for the people of J&K and Muslims if their involvement is proved,” Ms Mufti said.
