US President Donald Trump had a very noticeable bruise on his left hand at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, which caused various speculations about his health to circulate on the Internet.
Netizens had a lot to say about the bruise, including claims that Trump was “close to his death”
“Ugh! It looks very disgusting and disturbing! Close to death!” said a social media user. “It’s rotting from the inside out,” said another user.
“Are you kidding me? We’ve had two years of nonstop coverage of Biden’s age and health, and we’re not supposed to know what the hell he’s up to?” the user asked. “Also still no medical records of the shooting and what happened to his ear.
In a detailed comment, the user said: “Large spots on the hands are never a good sign in old age.” “He loses his train of thought in his speeches, there are inconsistencies, he repeats the same thing several times, and he seems so tired and weak . . . he grows so pale day by day . . .”
However, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that the bruise was caused by Trump hitting his hand on the corner of the signing table during his Board of Peace announcement.
Here’s what Trump had to say about the bruise
Trump blamed the bruise on his high aspirin intake. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said his dose of aspirin bruises easily.
“They say take an aspirin if you love your heart, but don’t take an aspirin unless you want a little bruise. I take a big aspirin,” Trump said.
“The doctor said, ‘You don’t have to take that, sir. You’re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not going to take any chances,'” Trump added.
According to a Reuters report citing four doctors, two surgeons and two internists, it was indeed possible that aspirin contributed to the bruising.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal earlier this month, Trump shared that he takes a larger daily dose of aspirin than his doctors recommend because he wants “nice, thin blood” to flow through my heart.
Previously, Leavitt attributed the bruised hands to shaking so many hands last summer.
Donald Trump, 79, is the second-oldest person ever to hold the presidency, behind his Democratic predecessor, President Joe Biden, who dropped out of his 2024 re-election bid amid questions about his fitness for office and left office a year ago at the age of 82.
