During a conversation with Argentine President Javier Mileio on Tuesday (October 14th), US President Donald Trump steered clear of political talk and joked about his physique while discussing a potential visit to an Argentine beach.
In his playful banter, the 79-year-old Republican compared himself to former President Joe Biden, saying his big body might not be “appreciable” in a swimsuit. The statement was made in reference to an old viral video of Joe Biden, who was spotted shirtless, wearing a long blue swimsuit, blue sneakers, a baseball cap and sunglasses while vacationing on a beach near his home in Rehoboth, Delaware.
When a reporter asked Trump, “Would you like to visit Argentina,” the 47th president quickly responded, comparing his “huge” frame to that of the former US president.
Donald Trump’s Body Beach Joke
On plans to visit Argentina, Trump said: “I’m just a little busy. I’d love to go to Argentina. I’d love to be like Biden. I’d like to go to the beach. My legs are not as thin as his. My legs are a little heavier, my hands are a little bigger. My body is a little bigger than his.”
He added: “I’m not sure they’d appreciate it on the beach, but I’m not going to risk it. You’re not going to see me in a swimsuit. You’re not going to see a swimsuit sitting in Argentina, falling down and not being able to get up….”
Reaction on social networks
Social media reacted strongly to the hilarious remark, with a user writing: “Funniest POTUS ever.
Another user said: “They think Argentina is one big beach.”
A third user joked: “If Trump showed up on the beach in a bathing suit, the tide would stop and never come back.
A fourth user said: “When all is said and done, Trump Bangers will be longer than Proust.”
The Trump administration plans to provide Argentina with an additional $20 billion in financing amid the South American nation’s collapsing currency, according to an AP report. Financial assistance would be provided through a combination of private sector and government funds.
It is in addition to a $20 billion credit default swap line that the US Treasury pledged this month to Argentina’s president and his government. However, the funding could be withdrawn if Milei’s coalition does not win the October 26 election scheduled for later this month.
Trump said, “If he wins, we’re going to stay with him,” adding, “And if he doesn’t win, we’re gone.”
