The price of domestic cooking gas LPG rose by a steep ₹60 per cylinder on Saturday (March 7, 2026) as oil companies braced for increased energy prices in view of the conflict in West Asia.
Non-subsidised LPG, the kind that regular household users other than the poor beneficiaries of Ujjwala use in their kitchens, will now cost ₹913 per 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi, according to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) website.
The price increase, the website showed, is effective from March 7.
This is the second rate hike in 11 months. Prices were last increased by ₹50 in April last year.
Non-subsidized LPG now costs ₹912.50 in Mumbai, ₹939 in Kolkata and ₹928.50 in Chennai, according to the IOC website.
Rates vary from state to state depending on the amount of local sales tax or VAT.
The prices for Ujjwala, more than 10 million connections provided to the poor, remain unchanged.
Earlier this month, the price of commercial LPG, which is used by establishments like hotels and restaurants, was increased by ₹114.5 per 19 kg cylinder. It now costs ₹1,883 in Delhi.
