The four -time Olympic archer Deepika Kumari is not yet considering retirement, and instead focuses on building mental strength to handle the high -pressure situation, taking into account the final rush of Los Angeles Games.
A 29-year-old woman, who will be 34 when the Los Angeles Olympic Games appears in 2028, said on Friday (October 3, 2025) that it would most likely be her final performance in the games and added that her thinking for the next edition is “Do-Or-Die”.
“This is not the last phase of my career – I haven’t decided yet. I believe all my competitions were really good experience,” said Mrs. Deepika Videos PTI on the sidelines on the opening of the Premier League archery in Nový Delhi.
Deepika said that her training is currently revolving around the refinement of mental and technical aspects of her performance.
“I worked on the mental and technical aspects of my game and this league helps me improve. Playing in front of the crowd is putting pressure, but this pressure actually helps players grow and prepare better,” said Mrs. Deepika.
“I try to handle every technique. In the past, I often fought during the decisive matches in tournaments, which cost me the results.
“I do a lot of visualization, mental training, thinking about walking, thinking about food – all. I want my technique to be so deeply rooted that I don’t have to think about it during pressure moments. I train hard.” Mrs. Deepika welcomed the inclusion of composed archery in the Olympic program and stated that it would significantly strengthen the prospects of Indian medals.
“I am very happy because the compound is now part of the Olympic Games. Everyone was wondering when it would happen, and finally it has it. Our medals have already grown in many tournaments and our composed team is very strong,” said Mrs. Deepika.
Mental comfort and sport
She also emphasized a strong bond shared between Indian archers, which she believes plays a key role in solving mental challenges of sport.
“We support each other as an archers. In the field we are talking about archery, but we also help each other outside the field. If someone is fighting mentally or technically, we speak and manage it together,” Mrs. Deepika said.
The Olympics also appreciated their partnership with colleagues Archer and her husband Atan Das and said that they both contribute to and outside the field support.
Mrs. Deepika also welcomed the premier League inauguration archery, which was held in India, and called it long -awaited support for sport in the country.
“We are playing the tournament right here in India and I am very excited because it is the first time we started such a league. We all enjoy it a lot. Finally, the archery league started and it is something we have expected for a long time,” Mrs. Deepika added.
She also urged fans to come and support players in places.
“People should come and cheer players. The crowd creates pressure-and that’s a good thing because they prepare us for matches with high betting. When people come and remember the names of players, it creates energy,” said Mrs. Deepika.
