The Chairman of the Fifth State Financial Committee C. Narayan Swamy urged all urban and rural local authorities to properly use funds published by the state government.
“We have seen that rural local authorities, such as municipal authorities and Panchayats, tend to divert funds published for one purpose for another. This should not be supported. All funds published for specific purposes should be used for this purpose.”
He spoke to Officers Zilla Panchayats, Taluk Panchayats and Gram Panchayats from the Bagalkot and Vijayapura districts.
“The government has ordered the payment of outstanding accounts for street headlights and drinking water plants in grams of Panchayat in the last few years and also to see that arrears will not be formed.
The Commission organizes the Ministry’s meetings to receive proposals for the use of these funds and the problems they are facing and to issue a recommendation to the government, he said.
The Commission examines various problems, including the financial state of Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, Gram Panchayat, city local authorities such as corporations, municipalities, urban panchayats and organizational structure of rural and city local authorities, their functioning, mobilization, assignment and infrastructure and technical skills and technical skills.
It accepts notes on administrative and financial problems and designing.
