In the midst of the alleged rape of the Gangs of the Faculty of Medicine in the Durgapur district in West Bengal, the State Police urged people on Saturday not to expand the rumors, and stated that the culprits would not be “not punished”.
In a post on the social media on X, the police of West Bengal, she said: “Yesterday we are deeply saddened by sexual attack by late night at a private student of the medical college, outside the school campus in Durgapur, and we want to ensure everything that the culprits will not be stopped.”
“The victim’s pain is as much as Odisha, and we will not leave any stones uninhabited for the perpetrators to put himself in court,” the police said.

“The victim is recovering well and all kinds of assistance are provided to the family. We are inviting everyone to refrain from sharing any unverified information. The West Bengal Police remain determined to his policy of zero tolerance in connection with crime against women,” they added.
Bengal rape
A student of the Faculty of Medicine from Odisha was reportedly raped by unidentified men in the Paschim Bardhan district in West Bengal, the police reported on Saturday.
The victim, which comes from Jalesware, is a second -year student at the Private Medical Faculty in Durgapur. Her family members said the incident occurred on Friday evening outside the school campus when she went to dinner with one of her friends. Her mother claimed that the attack she described as the rape of gangs took place around 22:00.
“We came here this morning and filed a complaint with the police. I heard that the college was well academically, and therefore we sent our daughter to study medicine,” the student’s father said.

Investigations and Timeline
Since then, the state police have initiated an investigation into this matter. The New Township Police Station officer revealed that the initial probe suggests that the student and her boyfriend leave the campus earlier, between 20:00 and 20:30 on Friday. It was also revealed that the accused individuals demanded money from the student to return their mobile phone.
The estate is currently undergoing treatment in a university hospital and issued a statement to the police, confirmed the officer. Her parents traveled to Durgapur on Saturday morning after their daughters were contacted.
Abhishek Gupta, DC (East) from Commissioner Durgapur, issued a short statement: “This matter is sensitive. The investigation is done with regard to all aspects. Once more information is available, it will be shared.”
“A friend left her alone when three unidentified men arrived there. The men grabbed her phone and took her to the jungle outside the campus where he raped her. She was endangered by terrible consequences if he told someone about the incident,” the officer said.
“We talked to a victim’s friend last night. We are trying to find out the CCTV shots. The forensic team will visit the place and gather evidence,” the officer said.
Separately, the National Commission for Women (NCW) arrived at the hospital in Durgapur to meet the victims and her parents.
