Pattali Makkal Katchi President (PMK) Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday (April 19, 2026) blamed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its allies for defeating what it claimed was the “Women’s Reservation Bill” in Parliament, calling it the “biggest betrayal of women” by the DMK.
The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, which is part of the delimitation package, was defeated in Parliament on Friday (April 17, 2026). It also aimed to redistribute Lok Sabha seats based on the 2011 census to accelerate reservation for women.
