Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday said he was ready to set up a committee headed by Leader of Opposition R Ashok to review and suggest measures on the Bengaluru tunnel road project.
Speaking to reporters at the Kanteerava Stadium, Mr. Shivakumar said, “I am ready to design entry and exit points at the places they design.”
Mr Ashok announced a protest in Lalbagh on Sunday against the tunnel road project under the slogan ‘Save Lalbagh, Save Bengaluru’.
The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the BJP for cooperation instead of confrontation on the issue and said there was no need for Mr. Ashok to protest. “Mr Ashok is also a legislator from Bengaluru and has a responsibility. Let us all work together,” he said.
Mr. Shivakumar added that he checked the entry and exit points near Lalbagh on Friday evening and that the government was examining alternative plans. “We are evaluating all options, there is no need to worry,” he said.
