The newly built loop in the overpass Hebal, which was proposed to improve the connectivity of vehicles coming from Kr Puram towards the city center, 18th August launched the main Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah and representative of CM DK Shivakumar.
The 700 -meter section is expected to facilitate traffic jams at the crossroads, which will potentially save on commuting three to five minutes. This advantage is expanding not only to vehicles coming from Kr Purama and Nagawar towards the city center, but also to those coming from Iarport and Yelahanka.
Hebbal Floer Ramp open to the public

Although the loop existed earlier, it was too narrow to allow smooth merger of Kr Puram vehicles with those from the airport to the city center. This slowed the traffic, especially for vehicles coming from the airport.
Similarly, vehicles heading towards Kodighell in the northern part of the city across the road below the overpass often encounter narrow spines. Overload was also delayed by vehicles passengers from Kr Puram to Bel Circle.
To resolve these questions, the Karnataka government decided to expand the ramp connecting the circle of Kr Puram and Mehkri. The work was entrusted to the Development of Bengaluru (BDA).
In 2024, the construction of a new loop began, which includes up-ramp about 100 meters and 600 meters towards the Mehkri circle. However, the BDA missed at least three dates, quoted the check -in department and strong overpass operation as reasons for delay.
The project was completed at the end of July. A few days ago, the police opened a loop for the operation flow, during which the commuters reported a delay of overload near Mehkri Circle.
The representative of the main Minister DK Shivakumar rejected the following concerns in the inauguration: “We cannot answer all the demands. We are here to serve people, do not worry.”
Phase 2 of the project
The BDA also builds a two -lane loop that facilitates traffic coming from Yelahanka towards the city, which is expected to further reduce the overload of the Hebal overload and facilitate movement for vehicles from Kodigelli.
Mr Shivakumar said the project was monitored by the BDA chairman on Haris and is scheduled to complete until November. He noted that the total cost of work is 300 crore. “A plan was created to expand the two -screen connectivity to six lanes,” he said.
He also emphasized 16.5 km Twin-Tunnel Road connecting Endeem Mall Junction and Silk Board Junction, which is expected to streamline traffic on Hebbal Junction.
Another tunnel project
About two weeks ago, Deputy Chief Minister announced another tunnel project after the newly built loop. On August 18, this plan repeated and explained that the 1.5 km tunnel would connect Junction and the University of Agriculture Sciences in North Bengalur. The purpose is to facilitate traffic flow from Kr Puram to the airport and further north of the city.
DK Shivakumar Rides restored the yezdi
Mr. Shivakumar, who added a personal touch to the event, brought his newly renewed YEZDi motorcycle for a test drive to the new KR Puram loop. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah described the ride and the representative of the main minister went as his Yezdi, who used during his college days. At that time he bought a motorcycle for 10,400 GBP.
MP fumes over traffic growl
Meanwhile, a minor traffic mushroom was reported due to the inauguration program. The event combined with regular operation on the working day led to the slow movement of vehicles at several intersections in the locality.
Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya took X to describe his suffering while taking a hebal overpass and calling an experience with a nightmare.
“On my way to Delhi this morning to attend parliament, I was stuck on Junction Hebbal for almost 50 minutes along with thousands of others and I almost missed the flight,” he wrote. He criticized the state government for the selection of Monday morning peaks as time for overpass inauguration.

Everything because the state government chose Monday morning peaks as…

“The long weekend has just passed – they could easily choose time with minimal disturbance. But the last thing he has ever considered is the comfort of commuting,” he said. “Neither in the design of the project nor in the planning of inauguration is not in mind the public. Politicians are always for politicians,” he added.
However, the top policeman in this area explained that overload against the airport was caused by the collapse of buses.
“Switch BMTC BUS suffered a mechanical problem due to a technical defect. It took us about two hours to clean it, which extended the traffic problem,” the officer explained.
He also pointed out that many commuting slowed up to follow the program and decorations that also contributed to overload.
