Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will host a dinner for Congress MLAs and MLCs on Tuesday (March 10) to mark the completion of six years as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president.
“There is a dinner tomorrow and a meeting of the Congress Legislature the day after,” he said. Under his leadership, the Congress returned to power in the 2023 assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters at the Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi on Monday (March 9), Mr Shivakumar said he would host a separate dinner for the defeated candidates, district presidents and block presidents on another day.
When asked about his meetings in Delhi, the KPCC chief said, “When I come to Delhi, I meet everyone. You (the media) are reporting that I was made to wait by the leaders of Delhi.”
Stating that there was a wedding in a friend’s family, he said, “That’s why I came to Delhi on Sunday (March 8). I met the Assam Pradesh Congress president today. There are many programs today, including the induction of several leaders into the party,” he said.
