DK Shivakumar will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan, Bengaluru on June 3. According to KPCC working president GC Chandrashekar, the decision was taken to reduce inconvenience to people.

Urging the party workers not to come to the venue, he said that Mr. Shivakumar would go to the district centers on dates to be announced later to meet and thank the party workers and people.

“No passes will be issued. Some invitations have been printed to be handed over to legislators. The decision to hold a simple oath-taking ceremony was KPCC’s and as KPCC president Mr. Shivakumar willingly agreed,” he added.

The announcement was made ahead of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting scheduled to be held on May 30 at 4 pm. The meeting, which follows hectic negotiations in New Delhi on May 29, where factions sought a greater share of power, should offer more clarity on the contours of the next government and the new cabinet composition.
