Deep under the sea at Swaraj Dweep in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a huge national flag was successfully unfurled on Saturday, earning it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Bengaluru-based adventure sports professional Sharath R. Ashok played an active role in the venture in which around 200 professional divers participated.
The mission, organized with the support of the Andaman and Nicobar administration and the Indian Defense Force, involved hoisting a massive national flag measuring 60×40 meters under the sea, amid strong currents and water pressure. Lt. Admiral DK Joshi acknowledged this extraordinary achievement and presented the team with an official Guinness World Records certificate.
