In an appeal aimed at supporting disadvantaged students, the collector of the district district Hyderabad Hari Chandana Dasari asked to delay bouquets and visitors during polite calls or congratulations. Instead, she called on them to donate pens and laptops in favor of government school students.
In her statement issued on Wednesday, the collector stated that many government employees and voluntary organizations visited her bouquet office to mediate their greetings. While she appreciated the gesture, she recommended directing this goodwill to a more meaningful cause.
“Pens and books donated by visitors will be collected by a red cross and distributed among students of students in government schools. This will directly help children from an economically weaker environment and ensure that every congratulations visit has a permanent impact,” the collector said.
