The Secretary of the District Secretary of the Communist Party (CPI) KG Sivanandan demanded a court investigation of alleged inconsistencies in the voters’ list during the Thrissur Lok Sabha elections. He accused the State Election Commission (SEC) of cleaning serious complaints about manipulating the list of voters during public opinion polls.
Sivanandan, who spoke on a press program organized by Thrissur Press Club, said that this problem could not be ignored with regard to the recent revelation of the leader of the Rahul Gandhi Congress leader of extensive election fraud in other countries. “The shadow of doubts now applies to Thrissur,” he said.
According to him, the complaints were that voters were “packed in” the constituency, raised during the elections themselves. “We provided formal complaints, but the Election Commission was easy to treat them. No subsequent measures were taken,” Mr. Sivanandan said.
Empire of concern, formerly the leader of the CPI and former Minister VS Sunilkucar, who was a candidate for the left democratic front (LDF) for the elections of Lok Sabha in Thrissur, said Mr. Sivanandan should not be limited to the mention of Mr. Gandhi. “These matters must also be thoroughly explored in Kerala, especially in Thrissur, where LDF suffered a defeat in dubious circumstances.”
