Dismembered body parts of a woman found in a canal on the outskirts of Vijayawada

In a gruesome case of murder, miscreants killed a woman, dismembered her and threw her body parts into the VTPS cooling canal in Ibrahimpatnam, West Zone in NTR Commissionerate of Police limits.

“Police found the torso and limbs in the canal on Saturday (September 19, 2026) and are searching for other missing parts,” NSVK West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Durga Rao said.

The victim was around 25 years old. An alert has been sounded in neighboring police stations to check cases of “missing women”, the ACP said.

“Efforts are on to identify the victim. Tracking teams and sniffer dogs have been deployed,” Mr. Durga Rao, who visited the crime scene, told The Hindu.
