Main Minister Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday (May 31, 2025) that the cheap airline Indigo will launch a continuous flight between Delh and Jorhat since mid -September and plans to strengthen air to other places in the state.
During his recent visit to Nový Delhi, the main minister met with the top management of the airline and called on them to expand the connection of Air to other key places across Assam, especially Silchar, Dibruugarh and North Lakhimpur, he said.
” New Delhi- Jorhat Direct flight since September 2025- it was a pleasure to meet the leadership of @Indigo6e in Nový Dilli to discuss their plan to expand the air connectivity in Assam, ”said the main minister on“ X ”.
” With the pleasure of sharing that @indigo6e will start a continuous flight between Delhi and Jorhat, starting with mid -September 2025 ”, he added.
The main minister expressed satisfaction about his meeting with the management of the airline and said Indigo had responded positively and shared the upcoming commitment.
The flight in Delhi – Dibruugarh will now include a Guwahati document, ” provides morning connectivity between the two main cities of Assam ”, he said.
The low-cost carrier restructures its schedule the introduction of the Guwahati-Silchar morning flight, which deals with the long-term demand of passengers, said Mr. Sarma.
From the winter schedule by 2025–26, a new service Guwahati – Navi Mumbai will be launched, he said.
Indigo will soon evaluate the planned operations from Lilabari Airport in Northern Lakhimpur, the main minister said.
” These accessories, along with the upcoming direct flight in Delhi – Jorhat indicate a significant step forward in improving Assam’s air connectivity, “Sarma said.
He appreciated the “quick response” of Indigo and was looking forward to their continuing efforts to provide quality services to people Assam.
