
Several people on social media said early Saturday (IST) that they were facing a nationwide outage of the Bank of America app and website, with many saying their funds had been “wiped”.
“Bank of America is wrong @BankofAmerica, app and desktop showing all my balances as ZERO…,” claimed the social media user. Another said, “And just like that, Bank of America is experiencing a nationwide blackout.”
“The Bank of America app is really working right now omg. It’s a glitch and shows bad balance…,” wrote another user.
Which areas were affected? Downdetector says…
Downdetector posted that user reports indicate problems at Bank of America. It said 88 percent reported problems with mobile banking, while 10 percent reported problems with online logging.

“User reports indicate issues with Bank of America as of 7:17 PM EST,” Down detector published on X.
It further revealed that the total number of customers facing issues has exceeded 3,000.
As many as 88 percent reported problems with mobile banking, and 10 percent reported problems with online login.
Downdetector also indicated that most people are facing mobile banking issues and the affected areas include Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles and Chicago.
“Bank of America offers retail banking services to individuals and businesses, including checking, savings, credit cards, mortgages and loans,” Downdetector said.

“Customers can check their account balances and transactions, deposit checks and transfer money through online banking and mobile banking apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Kindle Fire and other mobile operating systems,” he added.
What problems are users facing?
Several users commented on the Downdetector page to express their frustration. “Login shows balances from previous days. Can’t even transfer to Zelle,” said one person.
Another said: “The balance on the mobile app shows the previous business day and the call tells me I have a balance of 0.”
One person even said that Bank of America debit and credit cards were not working in Virginia as of November 7th, 6:00 PM ET.

One user also claimed that the message they saw from Bank of America read: “Some accounts and/or recent balances are temporarily unavailable. We are working to resolve this issue quickly.”
Many took to social media to urge the bank to resolve the issues as soon as possible. “Bank of America please fix your system it’s broken. AS SOON AS THE DAY IS OVER AND I HAVE TO FLY ON VACATION. Gotta love it,” one person wrote on X.
How to fix login problems | Customer care number
You must dial 711 and have your account number ready. For those who want to know about deposit accounts and available banking services, dial 800-432-1000.
Bank of America also offers several quick ways to resolve login issues.
One of them is to try to change the password. If it expires due to non-compliance with security standards, a new password is required before logging in.

They also asked users to check the password requirements – it should have 8 characters, 1 uppercase and 1 lowercase letter and 1 number.
Another possible fix is to check that the correct user ID is being entered.
Sometimes the user ID needs to be deleted and manually entered depending on the site. Some other things users can try is to see if their saved passwords are out of date, or to delete their saved credentials and try to sign in again. However, since this problem seems to be on the bank’s end, it is unlikely that these fixes will solve the problem.
