YouTuber and political commentator Dhruv Rathee has sparked widespread debate by promising an upcoming video that he claims will “destroy ₹propaganda film for 300 million crowns”.
(However, he did not specifically say whether the video was directed at Dhurandhar.)
Rathee said this on social media platform X on Saturday in a post widely interpreted as a reference to the blockbuster Hindi film Dhurandhar, which has been breaking box office records since its release.
He wrote: “To destroy a ₹Propaganda film for 300 million crowns. And I guarantee you MELTDOWN will be so bad after this video. They are not ready for it. Coming out tonight 😉 (sic).”
Rathee’s remark comes as Dhurandhar continues its successful run in theaters. The spy action film directed by Aditya Dhar has reportedly crossed major box office milestones and is among the highest grossing Indian films of the year.
The commercial success of the film was accompanied by a stormy discussion about its themes and presentation.

When Dhruv Rathee criticized Aditya Dhar earlier
This is not the first time that Rathee has criticized Dhurandhar. In November, shortly after the film’s trailer dropped, he sharply condemned the director’s creative choice. Rathee wrote that Dhurandhar’s intense scenes of violence, bloodshed and torture “is the equivalent of watching an ISIS behead and we call it ‘entertainment.’
He added: “His lust for money is so relentless that he willingly poisons the minds of the younger generation, desensitizing them to gore and glorifying unimaginable torture.

Rathee’s criticism went beyond content concerns. He also urged India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to scrutinize the material more closely, highlighting what he described as inconsistent standards in the industry’s approach to graphic depictions.
Fan reaction to the last post
Apparently, it didn’t take long for netizens to start commenting on his post.
One person sarcastically wrote, “I went to PVR this morning to watch Dhurandhar but they said they have canceled all the shows because Rathee’s video is coming up. It’s happening all over India (sic).
Another person commented, “Whoever tells him that his video will only sell the film more, no matter what facts he comes up with in the video, the makers have already clarified that it’s fiction, would ensure Dhurandhar runs on (sic).”
A third user wrote: “Will add another 400 cr for your video. Give more free publicity (sic).”
