“Kya kijiyega itni dhan raashi ka?”: YouTuber Dhruv Rathee takes a Kaun Banega Crorepati-style dig at new billionaire and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for promoting pan masala over the years.
In a now-viral video, the YouTuber shared the Jawan actor’s wealth and brand endorsements, highlighting that King Khan is now among the richest entertainers in the world with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion (approx. ₹12,400 million crowns).
Referring to news articles, Rahtee said that Shah Rukh Khan is now a billionaire. “According to newspaper reports, his net worth has reached $1.4 billion. In Indian rupees, it’s about ₹12,400 million crowns. Do you know how much money that is? It’s hard to even imagine,” he said in the video.
The YouTuber went on to discuss SRK’s wealth and speculated on the interest that the actor could earn from the fortune. He also tried to estimate Shah Rukh’s annual expenses, including spending on luxury properties, private jet and vacations.
However, the video took an unexpected turn when Dhruv Rathee criticized Shah Rukh Khan’s decision to promote something as “harmful” as paan masala despite his immense wealth.
Here is what he said:
Dhruv Rathee said he has only one question from Shah Rukh Khan, “Kya itne paise kaafi nahi hai?”
The YouTuber further slammed the star saying that if being a billionaire is enough, what makes King Khan endorse a paan masala brand?
“…If that’s enough, then what’s the compulsion that you keep promoting something like Padi Paan Masala?” he asked.
Referring to media reports, he said that the Bollywood superstar has reportedly been paid in the meantime ₹100 a ₹200 million for such endorsements.
‘Kya kijiyega so much money?’: Dhruv Rathee challenges SRK to consider her social impact
Dhruv Rathee challenged SRK to think about the social impact of his decision to promote paan masala and asked if he really needed something extra. ₹100-200 million.
“The question is, do you really need this extra 100-200 crore rupees? Be careful and ask this question honestly. What will you do with this amount of money?” joked the YouTuber.
He also asked Shah Rukh to think about what would happen if the country’s chief executive stopped promoting such harmful products: “What impact could it have on the nation?”
Rathee urged Shah Rukh Khan’s followers to spread his video to reach the actor, who is currently busy shooting for Siddharth Anand’s King.
However, SRK’s fans did not hold back in the comments section, with some even calling the YouTuber a hypocrite.
Several fans shared an old clip of the actor’s interview with Karan Thapar where he addressed the issue and said that if things like soft drinks are so bad, the government should ban them.
Quoting another interview with the actor, another fan said, “Shah Rukh Khan once said that he will never stop making money because he has seen those days of poverty, which he does not want to see with any of his children, no matter what he has to do.”
