A woman named Sujath Bhat, who was the first to filed a fresh police complaint about the disappearance of “daughter Ananya Bhat” in 2003 on July 15, now said that the story she told was “false and not true”. She claimed that activists were pushing her to create a story because of “property problem”.
“It’s not true. She has never been a daughter named Ananya Bhat,” HT quoted her statement on YouTube channel, adding a photo shared as evidence of her “daughter”, also “completely false”. She claimed that two well -known activists, namely, Girish Mattannavar and T Jayanti asked to think of.
The case was filed after the whistleblower published to claim decades of undocumented funerals in forest areas that he claimed that the temple authorities had ordered.
Why did the woman come up with the story?
She said, “Some people told me to say that. I was asked to do it because of the property problem. That’s the only reason.” Her grandfather owned the property, which allegedly held the authorities of the temple of Dharmasthal.
“No one had requested money from me. I never asked anyone for money. What I questioned was how my grandfather’s property was divided without my signature. This is the only thing I asked,” she added.
“I ask people to forgive me”
While she stressed that she had never done for a financial purpose, she said, “Yes, for the Karnatak people for devoted Dharmasthaly … I ask the people of this state and the whole country to forgive me … I never needed money.
What did she say in her complaint?
Her recent statements significantly contradicts what she told investigators this week. In her initial complaint, Sujath claimed that her daughter, Ananya, a medical student at the age of 18, disappeared in May 2003 during a visit to Dharmasthaly. She said that while Ananyini friends went shopping, Ananya remained behind the temple. However, when the group returned, it was not found anywhere.
Sajath further claimed that when she tried to reveal the truth to her daughter’s disappearance, she was kidnapped, delayed and threatened to return to Dharmasthaly or discuss them with anyone. She argued that she was physically attacked, portrayed unconscious and hospitalized in a private medical facility at Wilson Garden, Bengalur, where she remained in a coma a month before she regained consciousness.
