
The head of the progressive organizations in the Shivamogg district in Karnataka welcomed the Institute of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probate alleged crimes in Dharmasthale, and call on the government to initiate investigations by the exhuminations of the dead bodies that were allegedly buried.
KP Sripal, a defense counsel representing the guild of people, said at a press conference on Tuesday that after the request of progressive organizations, higher advocates and former Supreme Court judge V. Gopal Gowd, the government created the state government to explore crimes. “The government should act earlier in this case. The company has been registered on July 4. At present, a person who claims to bury hundreds of bodies should be allowed to exhous the same,” he said.
Mr. Sripal said that SIT should initiate an investigation without further delay and find out the truth in this case. “Sit should dig the truth and ensure that there are those who committed crimes, no matter how influential they are,” he said.
M. Gururumurty, the State Conference Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, said he appreciated the state government for being resistant with effective officers. “Let it be fair investigation. The truth should come out and real culprits should be punished,” he added.
