BJP’s Jahar Chakraborti emerged as the clear winner as he secured the Dharmanagar Assembly seat in Tripura by 18,290 votes over Congress’s Chayan Bhattacharya on Monday (May 4, 2026).
Mr. Chakraborti polled a total of 24,291 votes, comfortably edging out his nearest rivals. CPI(M) candidate Amitabha Datta got 6,001 votes while Congress candidate Chayan Bhattacharya got 5,936 votes.
