Almost a year after Telangana introduced new criminal laws, the General Director of the Police (DGP) Jitender chaired the Audit Meeting on Friday 23rd May in order to assess the progress, challenges and compliance with the police forces.
Three new laws, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagaraik Surraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), in validity in Talangana 1.
Since May 22, the TELANGANA police have noticed 1,37,644 cases together with 1,251 FIRS. A special remark was 607 cases in significantly revised or completely new provisions, including terrorism sections (BNS 113), organized crime (BNS 111), MOB lynching (BNS 103 (2)), Catching (BNS 304) and crimes such as National History (BNS 152).
DGP Jitender urged officers to monitor the timeliness of the indictment and emphasized that the deadlines with BNSS 60 and 90 days must be fulfilled without failure. “We have to tighten procedural compliance with regulations and closely cooperate with teams of prosecution to improve the level of beliefs,” he said during interaction with prosecutors.
Shikha Goel, CEO of CID and the release of the new Implementation Committee for Criminal Acts (NCL), submitted a detailed report on the status and outlined the various tasks that take place to put the new legal regime in the daily police.
Among the leaders present were ADG (Law & Order) Malesh M. Bhagwat, ADG (training) VV Srinivasa Rao, ADG (staff) Anil Kumar, IGP Multizone-I S. Chandra Shekhar Reddy, IGP (Planning and Logistics) M. Ramesh and Dig Members of the joint working group for the implementation of NCL also participated.
