
Head of the General Directorate for Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducted detailed questions about the Air India Express “tail” in connection with the “tail strike” of the Air India Express flight when landing at Tiruch International Airport on Saturday morning.
All passengers were safe and the aircraft was ground after the incident. The airport sources said Air India Express from Dubai with about 150 passengers on board landed at the airport in Tiruch when the tail part touched the path surface.
The incident noticed the air control towers at the airport, the sources said. Passengers left the flight safely after they arrived in the bay. According to the procedure, the incident was communicated to DGCA for investigation.
Sources said that a higher official from DGCA of Chennai came to Tiruchi Airport on Saturday evening and conducted an incident investigation. As part of the investigation, he inspected the runway, aircraft and air traffic control tower and organized questions at the airport authorities.
The DGCA official continued his investigation on Sunday before he returned to Chennai. A detailed report would be submitted by higher DGCA authorities in this context, they added sources.
