Thousands of devotees thronged the streets of Madurai to welcome Lord Kallazhagar, who entered the city on Thursday morning.
Devotees thronged the ‘Ethir Sevai’ to catch a glimpse of the deity, mounted on a golden litter, leaving his abode in Alagarkoil on Wednesday evening as part of the annual Chithirai festival. Lord Kallazhagar started his journey to Madurai on Wednesday around 6.15 pm from Alagarkoil. After stopping at Appan Tirupathi, it reached Moondrumavadi around 6:00 am on Thursday.
