A 76-year-old devotee from Goa died of a heart attack after visiting Sri Mahabaleshwar Temple in Gokarna in Uttara Kannada during the Mahashivaratri celebrations on Sunday.
M. Rathnakar collapsed after coming out of the temple.
The police took him to the hospital, but he did not survive.
Family members told police he had undergone heart surgery twice in the past.
