Main Minister Mahashtra Devendra Fadnavis said on Tuesday (July 8, 2025) (July 8, 2025) that the permit was granted to the meeting in the neighboring Mira Bhayander, in which the MNS leaders were planning to participate, but the party lasted on a specific route.
However, the head of Mahashtra Navnirman hay (MNS) Sandeep Deshpande claimed that the government was trying to suppress its voice and that the police did not intend to allow their assembly.
The police retained MNS Thane and Palghar Head Avinash Jadhav and several other party activists before the assembly scheduled on Tuesday by Thane’s Mira Bhayander to face the protest previously against the slap of food owner for not talking in Marathi.
The protesters shouted the slogans against the government and criticized them for not allowing a guinea pig.
The rally was designed by Marathi Ecikaran Samiti in the Mira Bhayander area.
Mn Mn Raj Thackeray-Headed is trying to promote the use of marathi in commercial facilities and banks in the state.
In an interview with reporters at Maharaštra Vishan Bhavan, Mr. Fadnavis said in this matter: “There is no opposition to organize the Assembly. It was difficult to provide permission for a sought -after route.
“This could cause a similar StamPede. In such a situation, the police are trying to convince and offer an alternative way. We are in a democracy, everyone has the right to organize a assembly,” he said.
“If they apply for a regular route, we will grant permission today and even tomorrow. Another organization organized a assembly from the route approved by the police, but these people remained adamant on a certain route,” he added.
Referring to the sequence of events, Mr. Fadnavis said that the permit was applied for late Monday evening for the organization of the assembly, which was also awarded.
“But when they came to the assembly, they promoted a way. If allowed, there could be situations in the field of law and order. For the past so many years, we all organize gatherings and they always talk after consultation with the police,” he added.
MNS slams the government
However, the MNS Sandeep Deshpande leader hit the government for this matter.
“Major Minister Mahashtra Devendra Fadnavis says he is ready to grant permission, but only if we change our Assembly route. This is nothing but a tactic to suppress our voice,” Deshpande said in a video report.
“We searched for a gathering permit in the Mira Road area, where the incident (attack on food parking last week took place. However, the police asked us to move it to Ghodbunder Road,” he said.
Who has a protest on Ghodbunder Road for something that happened on Mira Road? Mr. Deshpande asked.
“This clearly shows that the police did not intend to allow our assembly in the first place,” he said.
He pointed out that merchants recently organized a protest in the Mira Road area without being asked to move.
“Like traders, the police could also register cases against us, but they did not want to let us gather,” said Mr. Deshpande.
“No one should spread misinformation about this rally.
Meanwhile, to claim that Mira Road in Thane was used as a test land for new political experiments, CM Fadnavis said that marathi man has a “big heart”.
“Marathi’s people took care of the ground during the attacks on Earth and did not remain selfish. Marathi man can’t have shallow thoughts,” he said.
